8月8日に宮崎県で大きな地震（震度6弱）がありました。宮崎県は＜南海トラフ地震＞というとても大きな地震が起きるといわれている場所の１つです。

そして、＜今、この南海トラフ地震が起きる可能性が いつもより高いので 注意してください＞と、気象庁が発表しました。

東京都目黒区はこの対象地域ではありません。でも、地震はいつ来るがわかりません。いつもより地震に気を付けて 準備しておきましょう。

わたしたちにできることは、例えば…
▶ 家の中の家具を倒れないようにする
▶ "非常持ち出し袋"を準備する
▶ 避難場所を確認する（家族全員で確認）
▶ 水や食料（非常食）を買っておく
▶ 家族と連絡を取る方法を確認しておく
▶ 旅行に行く人は、津波のことや安全な場所を確認しておく

After the powerful earthquake hit Miyazaki Prefecture on August 8, the Japan Meteorological Agency issued mega-quake advisory as precaution and announced that the posibility of a major earthquake occurring in the Nankai Trough is relatively higher than usual. This does not mean an earthquake will necessarily occur within a specific timeframe. The advisery is expected to be in place for a week Officials said residents should not let their guard down even after it is lifted.

It is very important for every one of us to ensure we are prepared on a daily basis, such as

- Confirming locations of evacuation shelters
- Making arrangements to confirm the safety of family members
