「中世の華・黄金テンペラ画 － 石原靖夫の復元模写　チェンニーノ・チェンニーニ『絵画術の書』を巡る旅」

中世の祭壇画などに見られる華麗な色彩のテンペラ技法の絵画。金箔を背景に、顔料を卵黄で練った絵具で描き上げていくこの技法では、金箔に見事な装飾技法が施され、その表現は工芸的な魅力にもあふれています。
本展は、1970年代にイタリアに渡り、中世シエナ派の黄金テンペラを研究した画家 石原靖夫の復元模写を中心に、中世の技法を今に伝えるチェンニーニの書物『絵画術の書』をひも解きながら、制作の工程、色材、素材などでテンペラ画の技法とその魅力に迫ります。

The Tempera technique was widely used in the Western Medieval. We can enjoy the brilliant colors even now in altarpieces and illuminated manuscripts from the time. We at MMAT have organized workshops with the painter, Yasuo ISHIHARA, 7 times since 1992 to explore this technique.
In this Exhibition, we will focus on “Il libro dell’arte’ that transmits this Medieval technique, and will display the grand classic work of “Reproduction” created by ISHIHARA in Italy together with the process samples, colors and other materials to illustrate the charm of Tempera paintings.
