APAHLとは、アジア・太平洋地域における看護・健康科学のリーダーとなる人材の育成を目指した国際連携事業です。

医学部保健学科2年生と3年生の計10名が、タイのチェンマイ大学がホスト校となり、11月5日（水）から8日（土）の4日間開催されたAPAHLフォーラムに参加しました。

フォーラムでは、「イノベーションとテクノロジーを通じた地域保健と高齢者ケアの強化」をテーマに、学生らがディスカッションやプレゼンテーションを行い、チェンマイ大学が運営する高齢者ケア施設などを訪問しました。

2日目の夜、学生たちは世界的にも有名なロイクラトン祭りを見学しました。
3日目は象保護センターを訪問し、象の背中に乗るなど、毎日が貴重な体験の連続でした。

最終日に開かれたフェアウェルパーティでは、各大学の学生が自国の衣装を着て文化パフォーマンスを行いました。

　山口大学医学部では、APAHLの活動を通して、世界で活躍する医療人の育成に力を入れています。

The Asia-Pacific Alliance for Health Leaders (APAHL) is an international cooperation program dedicated to cultivating future leaders in nursing and health sciences across the Asia-Pacific region.

A total of ten students (comprising 2nd and 3rd-year students) from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Yamaguchi University School of Medicine, participated in the APAHL Forum. This four-day event was hosted by Chiang Mai University, Thailand, and took place from Wednesday, November 5th, to Saturday, November 8th.

The forum's academic focus was "Strengthening Community Health and Elderly Care through Innovation and Technology." Students engaged in discussions and presentations, and also visited elderly care facilities operated by Chiang Mai University.

Beyond the academic sessions, the trip offered unique cultural experiences.

On the evening of the second day, the students attended the globally famous Loy Krathong Festival.
On the third day, they visited an Elephant Conservation Center, where they enjoyed activities such as riding the elephants. Every day provided a succession of invaluable experiences.

The Farewell Party, held on the final day, featured cultural performances by students from each participating university, who were dressed in their respective national costumes.

The Yamaguchi University School of Medicine is committed to nurturing globally competent healthcare professionals through its continued involvement in APAHL initiatives.
