枝垂桜
添え：バイカオウレン
枝垂れの名の通り、下方に垂れる枝模様が見どころの桜の品種。滝の如く流れ落ちる枝先に純白の花が散りばめられる。蘇軾（そしょく）の七言絶句「春夜」の一節「花有清香（かゆうせいこう）」が線刻された泥鉢ともよく合い、春の宵にしばし眺めたい一鉢である。

Weeping Cherry
Companion Piece: Baika-ōren, Coptis quinquefolia
The weeping cherry is notable for the way that its branches droop down. The tips of its branches that come down burst like a waterfall bearing numerous small white flowers. It matches well with its unglazed pot, which has been carved with a line from the Chinese poem qiyan jueju, Spring Night, by poet Su Shi. This line may be translated as “bustling blossoms revel in refreshing fragrance”. This piece is best admired on a spring evening.
