Hello! I'm Haruna, Nara City High School Student Tourism Correspondent!
I recommend to visit the Naramachi Karakuri Toy Museum, which is located just after entering Naramachi.
Here you'll find old-fashioned toys that even adults can enjoy.
Toys from the Edo period onwards have been restored, and you can learn about the knowledge and ingenuity of people in the past.
The staff will teach you how to play, so please feel free to ask them.
Naramachi is lined with beautiful historical buildings.
Naramachi Nigiwai House, where you can see the structure of the building and old Japanese cooking utensils, is recommended for both foreigners and people living in Japan!
This is a renovated 100-year-old townhouse, and you can see tatami mats and a Japanese-style garden. You can actually see kamado, an old rice cooker, which is rare these days.
Naramachi is a little far from Nara Park or Todaiji Temple, so time passes at a leisurely pace.
You can walk slowly and feel history and see people’s lives very easily.
There are many other wonderful shops as well, please walk through the narrow alleys and explore them.
However, there are some residents in Naramachi, so please be sure to follow good manners, such as taking your trash home with you, not making loud noises, and not walking while lying down on narrow streets.

今回ご紹介するのはならまちを入ってすぐの奈良町からくりおもちゃ館です。ここには大人も楽しめる江戸時代以降のおもちゃが復元されており、昔の人々の知識や工夫を学ぶことができます。スタッフの方が遊び方を教えてくださるので、ぜひ声をかけてみてください。
ならまちには素敵な歴史ある建物が立ち並んでいて、建物の構造や古い日本の調理器具などを見学できる奈良町にぎわいの家は海外の方にも日本旅行者にもおすすめです！
ここは築100年の町屋を改修したもので、畳や日本式のお庭などを見ることができます。今では珍しいかまども実際に見ることができますよ。
ならまちは奈良公園から少し離れており、ゆったりとした時が流れています。
この他にもたくさん素敵なお店などがあるので、細い路地を歩いて探検してみてくださいね。
ただし、ゴミは持ち帰る、大声を出さない、細い道では横になって歩かないなどマナーを守って楽しんでください。
