国際医療救援部研修生の長谷川です。
日本赤十字社和歌山医療センターで開催された熱帯医学研修に参加しました。
グループディスカッションでは、熱帯感染症の事例などをもとに感染拡大の背景を検討し、取るべき対策について発表を行いました。
また、顕微鏡で寄生虫を観察する機会があり、顕微鏡の使用方法についても学ぶことができました。
依然、世界のあらゆる熱帯地域で顧みられない熱帯病（Neglected Tropical Diseases, NTDs）は人々の生活を脅かしています。苦しむ人々を少しでも救えるように今後も学習を続けようと思います。

I Participated in Tropical Medicine Training!
I’m Hasegawa, a trainee at the International Medical Relief Department. I participated in the Tropical Medicine Training held at the Japanese Red Cross Wakayama Medical Center.
During the group discussion, we examined the background factors behind tropical infectious disease spread based on case studies and presented our ideas about countermeasures that should be taken.
We also had the chance to observe parasites through a microscope and learned how to operate a microscope.
Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) continue to threaten people’s lives across tropical regions worldwide.
I will keep learning so that I can help, even in a small way, to alleviate the suffering of those who are afflicted.
