For our final cherry blossom recap, we’re reporting from Hachimantai and Shizukuishi to introduce two lone cherry trees!

Pictures 1-2: The Lone Cherry Tree of Inai, Hachimantai – there once was a Shinto shrine located on this hill, but it was relocated, leaving behind this Somei Yoshino cherry tree. It is currently featured in JR East advertisements!

Picture 3: The Lone Cherry Tree at Koiwai Farm, Shizukuishi – this famous Edohigan cherry tree is said to be around 100 years old, and has been used as a filming location for movies and dramas.
