信楽に暮らし、身近な草や木で糸を染め、手織りの制作をおこなう佐藤亜紀（さとうあき）さんの作品展を開きます。

絹や綿、ウールなどを素材にしたストール・マフラーを中心に、ポーチ、ポットマット、サコッシュ、小座布団なども並びます。

初日には作家も在店いたします。
どうぞお運びくださいませ。
※ ギャラリーの一部を使った展示会になります。カフェは通常営業いたします

1981年新潟県長岡市（旧 栃尾市）生まれ
2003年長岡造形大学産業デザイン学科（現 美術・工芸学科）テキスタイルデザインコース卒業
2006～2009年京都の染織工房でスタッフとして働く
2009年独立
2010年京都にて制作活動を始める
2017年滋賀県甲賀市信楽町に移住

写真の作品について
🌿1枚目
待宵草、よもぎ、藍生葉、ヤシャブシの実、コブナ草、イタドリ、スギナ、枇杷の葉。
季節季節に染めてきたさまざまな色をつかって織り上げた一枚

🌿2枚目
栗のいがや玉ねぎの皮で染めたアルパカウールにヤクやキャメルの自然色をあわせて織ったもの

🌿3枚目
手前はよもぎやスズメノエンドウ、春の野草で染めた色。奥はコチニールで染めた色。

We will be holding an exhibition of works by Aki Sato, who lives in Shigaraki and dyes thread using familiar plants and trees, and creates handwoven pieces.

The exhibition will feature stoles and scarves made from silk, cotton, and wool, as well as pouches, pot mats, pouches, and small cushions.

The artist will also be present on the opening day.
Please come and visit.
*This exhibition will use a portion of the gallery. The cafe will be open as usual.

Aki Sato
Born in Nagaoka City (formerly Tochio City), Niigata Prefecture in 1981.
Graduated from the Textile Design Course of the Department of Industrial Design (now the Department of Arts and Crafts) at Nagaoka Institute of Design in 2003.
Worked as a staff member at a dyeing and weaving studio in Kyoto from 2006 to 2009.
Went independent in 2009.
Started creative work in Kyoto in 2010.
Moved to Shigaraki Town, Koka City, Shiga Prefecture in 2017.

About the photographs
🌿1st photo
Evening primrose, mugwort, indigo leaves, alder fruit, beech grass, Japanese knotweed, horsetail, and loquat leaves.
This piece is woven using a variety of colors dyed each season.

🌿 2nd photo
Alpaca wool dyed with chestnut burrs and onion skins is combined with the natural colors of yak and camel.

🌿 3rd photo
The colors in the foreground are dyed with mugwort, annual peas, and spring wildflowers. The colors in the background are dyed with cochineal.
