こもがけ - 冬の金沢の風物詩
金沢に降る雪は水分を多く含んだぼたん雪が多いため、雪の水分による土塀の損傷や、付着した積雪による土剥がれを防ぐことを目的として、例年12月最初の週末に長町武家屋敷跡界隈では土塀を寒さや雪から守る「こも」を掛ける作業を行います。

雪吊りとあわせて冬の金沢ならではの景色をお楽しみください。
こも掛けは3月中旬まで見ることができます。

Komogake - a winter traditional thing in Kanazawa
In order to prevent damage to the earthen walls and soil from snow accumulation, “Moko” is used to protect the earthen walls from cold and snow on the first weekend of December every year in the area around the Naga-machi Bukeyashiki (samurai residence).

Please enjoy the unique view of Kanazawa in winter together with the snow hanging.
The “komogake" can be seen until mid-March.
