明日より「kearny eyewear refurbished project by sost.」 が始まります。
STOVEが家具やインテリアを扱う中で
大切にしてきたのは、手を入れながら使い続けることで
ものに愛着が育っていくという考え方です。
年のはじまりに、kearnyの眼鏡を手に取っていただき、
そんな価値観をあらためて共有できたらと思います。
今回ご紹介するフレームは、通常よりも少しお求めやすい形となっています。

職人不足やセルロイド生地の減少により、以前のモデルをそのまま再生産することが難しい状況が続いています。そうした背景の中で、職人の技術を次の世代へと残していくため、kearnyでは、壊れた眼鏡や買い替えを希望された眼鏡を回収し、職人の手で整え直し、次の使い手へ引き継ぐ取り組みを行っています。

20世紀半ばまで主流であった
セルロイド製眼鏡を現代に残すため、
デザイナー 熊谷富士喜氏が2013年に立ち上げたブランドです。
職人の手によって一つひとつ製作されています。

but carefully restored by skilled craftsmen
and passed on to its next owner.
