The Oji Fox Parade (Kitsune no Gyoretsu) is a New Year's Eve tradition at the Soshoku Inari Shrine in Oji 🦊
According to old legends, foxes from all over the region would gather underneath a large tree on New Year's Eve. The foxes would don costumes and then parade to Oji Inari Shrine.
This was acted out as a way for the Oji residents to look back on the previous year while welcoming the new one and thus was the start of the Oji Fox Parade.
2023 was a year of revival of various events and a return to the liveliness and vitality that is typical of Tokyo. We are thrilled that tokyosrtsandculture also held a Meet Up for the first time in 3 years, and we were able to interact and connect with our followers offline.

「毎年大晦日になると、各地から狐が集まり装束を整えて、王子稲荷にお参りした」
そんな言い伝えを継承し、きつねに扮した人々が集います。
2023年は、様々な行事が復活し、東京らしい賑やかさや活力が再び戻ってきた1年。
tokyosrtsandculture でも3年ぶりに MEET UP を開催し、フォロワーの皆様とのリアルでの交流やその発信ができたことを、とても嬉しく思います。
